When it came to the actual dive, this crew really stood out to me. Their in depth dive planning always made me feel secure as it was my first night dive. Their schedule, tour, and info on the mantas was very helpful. On the trip the entire crew was incredibly friendly and professional. I changed from snorkel to dive and it was incredibly simple and they were so responsive over email.

This company was professional and helpful from scheduling to completion. Hopefully we won't have to wait 18 years this time!!!Īlso, I think it is important to mention that we did many excursions while we were in Hawaii (zip lining, day snorkel, luau, volcano tour, and dolphin experience) the price of this manta ray experience was the best value of the entire week! Can't recommend this highly enough!!! We would absolutely go a third time if we make it back to Hawaii and would use the same company again. We saw several manta rays and they were SO CLOSE to us. Her depth of knowledge of the ocean life and manta rays was solid and she could answer any question thrown at her. She really made sure all were having a good time.

Kelly was our conservation guide and she even noticed my 13 year old was struggling with his mask during the snorkel and swam over and helped him adjust it before I even noticed. My husband had injured his arm two days before and the crew was incredibly accommodating to make sure he could snorkel and was doing ok throughout our time.

It was also nice that we didn't have to listen to all the instructions for the scuba divers if you are only snorkeling. (The snorkel/scuba combo boat is a larger, more traditional dive boat). It is a jet boat which was a very fun experience and felt a little more exciting in my opinion as you are closer to the water. Last time we had a combo boat (scuba and snorkelers). We did this same experience with the same company 18 years ago and again had an incredible experience, this time bringing our teenage kids along. We did the night snorkel to see the Manta Rays in mid June 2021. This dive was hands down the best thing we did on our trip to Hawaii and should you choose to go diving with manta rays, this is the company you should dive with! We appreciated the hot water rinse after diving and the snacks and drinks. Initialy, we saw maybe three to four rays come to feed on the plankton, but later in the evening, there were thirteen to sixteen manta rays feeding and performing an aquatic ballet that was awe-inspiring! Emma took great care of us, and Captain Ron got us to the dive site and back with a minimum of fuss. We dove down and made ourselves comfortable for the manta rays. Our dive guide was Emma, and there was one other diver with us that night.

The crew was knowledgable about diving, snorkeling and manta rays, they explained about how their skin is very delicate and that touching htem causes their skin to tear. Manta Ray Dives of Hawaii was an excellent decision on our part.

Mu husband and I really wanted to go diving on our Hawaii vacation, and we both wanted to go on a night manta ray dive. And there was a hot shower on the boat when we re-boarded.Īll and all, I would definitely recommend a private charter with this company, but I’m sure there other excursions are probably great too! Holly found a sea urchin for us to hold (and put back). The kids were able to jump off the upper deck of the boat. The water was choppy, but they had pool noodles for the kids. We were the only boat in the water at our snorkel sites, so it was nice not having to deal with crowds in the water. Snorkeling would have probably been better at Captain Cook, but since we wanted to whale watch, we needed to head north (away from CC). Holly swam through the arch, but the rest of us weren’t brave enough. The second site had a cool sea arch through the coral. So we had plenty of room to move about and be more than comfortable. There were only 7 of us in our party, and the boat can hold several more. This was a bonus because several of the charters I looked at didn’t do sandwiches. They provided sandwiches, chips, a few sweet treats, and sodas/juices. It’s was a nice little splurge.īrooks and Holly were our crew, and they were fantastic! They were helpful and knowledgeable. We wanted to do both whale watching snorkeling in one trip, so hiring private wasn’t that much more expensive, compared to separate snorkel and whale watching excursions. We hired a private charter for the morning.
